We interrupt our irregularly scheduled programming...
We interrupt our irregularly scheduled programming to bring you this important message: Oops… and Sorry!
Did you submit a photo of work twinsies… and your submission was totally ignored? Did you grow irate and wish harm upon Work Twinsies… maybe hoping that a massive internet virus would kill the site, forever deleting all of its silly, grinning, matchy-matchy colleagues? Well, you’re not alone.
After a blogging hiatus, Work Twinsies was SHOCKED to discover hundreds of submissions from all over the world. That’s right, from San Francisco to New York to Japan to Namibia. All over the freaking world.
This blog started as a Facebook photo album of the digital design team at Ogilvy 360 Digital Influence in Washington, DC (we’re now Social@Ogilvy and live in New York City). One digital strategist thought it was hilarious that designers invariably came to work in identical outfits. Head-to-toe carbon copies of each other. And these were the creatives. She teased them at first, but them began snapping their photos. And so the collecting began. But the material was endless and universally relatable. It demanded to be published on a blog so others could share in our chuckles, self-mockery and tomfoolery.
Never did we think that one office’s inside joke would spread across the company, and then around the world. We’re shocked, humbled, delighted… but mostly, feel terrible about the many, many submissions that have gone unpublished.
We’re sorry. You deserve better.
And so we’re dedicating some time to perusing the photos you’ve submitted and posting those that meet our requirements of featuring 1) co-workers 2) in identical outfits. We’ll also be sprucing up the experience. Let’s be honest - you won’t see massive design improvements. (After all, we’re not getting paid for this). But you will get the satisfaction of seeing your photo published sooner. That’s our promise to you.
Thanks for your photos. Work Twinsies would not exist without you.
